Breathwork.
Breathing is so natural, so ordinary we don't think about it. The biomechanics of our bodies are incredible, our lungs and cells are constantly working to regulate and nourish the inner landscape of you.
And yet, how we breathe can change everything about us; from the tiny cellular structures to the circulatory system, soft tissues and skin.
The breath is also the gateway to the nervous system; physical and psychological experiences, memories and emotions. When guided safely by a qualified and accredited practitioner, you can quite literally change your life by changing the way you breathe.

Types of Breathwork
There are three schools of Breathwork from which a vast range of practises, techniques and methods can be discovered. These are : Regulation and autonomy. Psychotherapeutic Breathwork. can induce a state of relaxation and calm, bringing a sense of balance in both the body and brain. From athletes to hairdressers, nurses to coaches, breathwork is good for everyone.
As a qualified mental health professional I have been fortunate to work alongside psychiatrists and clinicians who were interested in how a holistic approach could benefit the treatment and recovery of their patients. I have worked with individuals experiencing substance misuse, PTSD, grief, palliative care, depression and anxiety, ADHD , neurodivergence, stress and OCD.

The combination of ancient wisdom, contemporary and scientific studies, intention and practise can have extraordinary effects on longevity, health and wellbeing.

Regulation and autonomy
Dysfunctional breathing patterns such as hyperventilation have been shown to lower Co2 levels in the blood, leading to decreased attention and restlessness. (Gilbert 2002). Breathwork coaching can help you to:

-
Reduce stress and anxiety.
-
Improve focus and mental clarity.
-
Sensory processing; building autonomy and confidence.
-
Know yourself deeply.

-
Supports digestive health, IBS and digestive disorders

Psychotherapeutic Breathwork
Conscious connected breathwork, retentions and breath holds. Inhalations and exhalations create a circular flowing motion through the body.
The depth of the breath and continuous cyclical pattern create internal shifts and physiological changes in the body.
This rapidly accelerates the ability to move from the cerebral thinking mind, into the body where feelings, memories and experiences are alsao stored.
These are powerful practises that can bring rapid shifts to individual growth, strengthening the mind - body connection and releasing emotions, traumas and memories held in the body.
